Mandatory Online Training for RPSL Companies, Errors to Be Eliminated

Mumbai. News Tanks Bureau.

To ensure transparency and accurate records in the maritime sector, the Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) has taken a significant step. DG Shipping has made online training mandatory for middle management staff of RPSL agencies and shipping companies across the country.

This information was shared via an official letter by Captain P.C. Meena, Deputy Director General of Shipping. He stated that this training is essential for correct data entry and documentation related to seafarers on the DG Shipping portal.

This training session is the need of the hour. It will help prevent mistakes in Form-1 and AoA, and seafarers will no longer have to run from office to office for corrections,” Senior DGS official.

Training Schedule:

Date For Whom Time

18 July RPSL agencies based in Maharashtra 11:00 am to 12:00 pm
25 July Other RPSL agencies across India 11:00 am to 12:00 pm
1 August All shipping companies in India 11:00 am to 12:00 pm

Why is this training important?

Incorrect entries on the DG Shipping portal cause trouble for seafarers

Form-1 and AoA (Articles of Agreement) corrections take time

Accurate records will directly benefit the seafarers

DG Shipping has urged all concerned companies to ensure the participation of their staff on the scheduled dates. The training links have already been sent to the companies via email.
